Narrow Aisle Lift trucks
There are especially designed forklifts that operate in narrow warehouse aisles. These equipment are normally known as vary narrow aisle or narrow aisle forklifts. They could negotiate smaller aisles with ease and enable you to enjoy some benefits. Like for example, the increased amount of space to store stuff can significantly increase a company's overall available stock.
Narrow aisle lift trucks are able to maneuver easily too. These machinery have been particularly designed to move without a lot of space. Their different design has eliminated many of the things which are squished up into the main body of the traditional lift truck design.
The downside of narrow aisle lift trucks is that they are very slow in comparison to standard lift trucks. Narrow aisle lift trucks will not work if you need to transport items across long distances. When it comes to speed they will not be a dependable alternative. If you also have a standard forklift, this would not be an issue. You can just use the narrow aisle lift truck to move the load to a central site and afterward hand it off to a standard lift truck that could travel the bulk of the distance in an efficient and timely manner. Usually, narrow aisle lift trucks cannot handle as much lifting weight; therefore, outside of smaller loads they would not be very helpful.
Electric Lift Trucks
For indoor use like stores or in warehouses, traditional gas lift trucks are not a suitable alternative. They would not be as safe due to their fumes, or as cost-efficient or useful than an electric powered unit. Electric forklifts are usually engineered to work and look a lot like gas ones, but they utilize electric batteries which must be recharged, instead of gasoline fuel.
Electric forklifts are common for a variety of reasons. For starters, they would save you a lot of money on fuel costs. At first, electric units may cost more but eventually, they make up for this in the long run. Like for example, when gas prices increase, you will save a lot of cash because you will not be affected. Electric units tend to last somewhat a bit longer compared to gas powered models too. This is partly due to the fact they are mostly used indoors and hence don't get as dirty or work in as harsh environments as the gas powered models. Electric units are healthier to utilize in areas that are poorly ventilated like indoor applications and warehouses as they don't emit noxious fumes. It could be extremely dangerous to use diesel or gas lift trucks inside.
One of the major disadvantages to electric forklifts is the fact they can usually just work for one 8 hour shift before the battery has to be charged for another shift. Many companies get around this condition by buying an extra battery so they could have less downtime and continually cycle them. There are fast charge batteries available on the market that are also reducing the charging time.
