The Carriage
The carriage is like a conventional lift truck since the lifting attachment can be tilted forwards and backwards from its horizontal. The tilt which is possible on this equipment exceeds more than that of the vertical masts. There are various kinds of lifting attachments available, and this ability to position makes them as efficient as possible.
The majority of telehandlers have the capability of tilting to a position which is actually parallel to the ground. Several models have rotating carriages also. This allows the operator to adjust the lifting attachment radially. This translates to the load being able of being tilted forwards and backwards, as well as side to side.
Load Capacity
Knowing the load capacity of a telehandler is a much different exercise than it is on a vertical mast unit. The capacity of the unit is entirely dependent on such things as: the amount of boom transaction deployed, if this is applicable and boom extension and angle, whether the unit is lifting on rubber tires or on outriggers. Additionally, which lifting attachment plays a really important role, as does the wind, the grade the machinery is operating on and so on. All of these specifics could be changing on a constant basis and this gives the operator a lot more information to consider.
Usually, telehandlers have some load charts available in order for the operator to reference so they can know the load capacity of a certain lift. Depending upon the unit in particular and the boom's configuration, the load capacity could differ by thousands of pounds all together.
