Motorized Pallet Truck
A Motorized Pallet Truck often goes by other names such as: Walkie or Walkie-Rider. These pieces of equipment are basically a motorized version of a pallet jack. They come in both "Walkie" models and "Rider" versions.
The walkie type as the name implies, is made to allow the operator to walk along the machine as they pick up and move loads. The operator stands on a small platform on the Rider model. The rider models are ideal for frequent transporting of cargo over extended distances within manufacturing applications and warehouses. They are really fast and maneuverable.
It is not recommended to lift and move tall or unstable loads as there are no safety cages on these models. A rider could be the right answer if you are searching for a cheap way of moving cargo from one location to another. If though, you must transport heavy loads short distances, and prefer to use a more employee-friendly unit instead of a pallet jack, the walkie model can be the right option.
Order Selector
The order picker or order selector is a piece equipment designed particularly for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks connected to a platform in the Man-up design. This platform elevates both the operator and the load in order to facilitate manual loading and unloading from racking areas.
Usually, the order selector is a very narrow aisle vehicle which could work in smaller aisles. They are really useful pieces of equipment in physical inventories as well as in cycle counting situations. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, though models that range in the 20 to 30 foot range are a lot more popular.
