Kinds of Aisles
Narrow Aisle and Wide Aisle lift trucks are classed due to the kinds of aisles they have been designed to work in. These machinery are able to turn in an aisle, whereas Very Narrow Aisle trucks really don't turn within the aisle. There are some aisle widths to take into account with various models.
VNA or Very Narrow Aisle trucks operate in less than 6 feet areas and often use certain guidance systems such as rail, wire or optical systems in order to travel in the aisles. Several different models of VNA trucks consist of Order Selectors, Turret Trucks and Swing Masts. These are popular kinds in tight retail areas and in several warehouse and storage situations.
Narrow Aisle trucks could operate within aisles from 8 feet to 10 feet wide. Normally these are stand-up units such as Reach Trucks. They are commonly utilized in warehouses and storage facilities.
The wide aisle forklift is designed to work within aisles more than 8 feet to 10 feet.
Stand-Up Ergonomics
The "Ergomat" padding on stand-up units provide padding on a sloped floorboard. These features are designed to lessen operator exhaustion by absorbing vibration. The operator compartment is spacious and has an 8" low step height which helps lessen overall body fatigue by easing frequent exit and entry. The model includes polyurethane steer tires to absorb vibration and shocks caused by uneven floor in order to allow smooth traveling. For additional comfort, there is a floor mat and a cushioned armrest as well as a backrest designed to help keep drivers comfortable and hence more effective while limiting exhaustion.
